In this article, I give you my Panasonic Eluga dL1 review with specs included. This is the first Android phone of this famous house, which is, you will agree, a surprise, especially considering what Sony and Samsung have done in this field so far.
But well, what is, there it is. Still, it seems that the debut from Panasonic has long been expected for a reason because, in addition to the usual things that a smartphone offers, the Panasonic Eluga dL1 is also characterized by the fact that it is waterproof.
Also, the Panasonic Eluga dL1 is a dust-resistant smartphone, and as far as water is concerned, the Panasonic Eluga dL1 is able to spend up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 m, which is quite enough for the usual “watering” of the phone with water. juice, beer, or some other liquid.
The Panasonic Eluga dL1 is definitely a sophisticated style phone.
The Panasonic Eluga dL1 is an interesting style phone, with a slim waist of only 7.8 mm, with a beautiful and simply curved back, while the sidelines of the device are only 4 mm wide, which gives this phone the power to look like made of only one part – the screen. By the way, the screen has a diagonal of 4.3 inches, and it is located within the dimensions of 123 x 62 x 7.8 mm. The Panasonic Eluga dL1 simply exudes elegance and is without a doubt one of the most beautiful smartphones.
The screen is made in AMOLED technology with a perhaps not very bright resolution of 540 × 960 pixels, but if we were to look for the advantages of this choice, then it would certainly be reflected in lower power consumption, or longer battery life, which can allow the user up to 10 hours talk or up to 300 hours in standby mode (although with 1,150 mAh we can hardly talk about an overly good battery).
Panasonic Eluga dL1 is a combination of beauty and durability.
So, the Panasonic Eluga dL1 combines somewhat unusual and at first glance incompatible things – beauty and durability (water resistance), but Panasonic has succeeded in that and they should be recognized for that (unlike the Motorola DEFY model, which still remained waterproof). All that’s missing is unbreakability, but don’t try that because the Panasonic Eluga dL1 is not a device you can bang on the wall without having anything to do with it.
It’s not clear to us why Panasonic decided to put such an elegant phone in a waterproof suit, because this inevitably had to compensate for something, and on the other hand, it is clear that someone who has this phone does not often go to “forests and mountains”. But who knows. Maybe times have changed.
Unfortunately, the Panasonic Eluga dL1 does not have expandable memory, but neither a flash nor an HDMI connection.
All the connections provided by Panasonic are on the top of this phone, so there is a micro-SIM slot, but not a MicroSD slot for memory cards, so the user is limited to perhaps an insufficient 8 GB.
In addition, there is also a micro USB port, but not a more modern and more powerful HDMI. Of the hardware keys, the Panasonic Eluga dL1 has one for volume control (which is not the most practical, but it is assumed that with a little practice it can still be used nicely). The story is similar to the button to turn the phone on and off.
Panasonic Eluga dL1 has a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1GHz, which takes care that everything works properly, so in this sense, Panasonic Eluga dL1 can be compared to the Sony Xperia S and HTC One S. Also, 1GB of RAM is enough. for quality multitasking.
One of the better things on this phone is definitely the camera which with the already well-known Lumix technology and 8 MP gives very vivid photos. But here, too, we come to another problem, and that is that the Panasonic Eluga dL1 does not have a flash, which is simply amazing, so the user has to forget about clicking in places with low lighting.
By the way, Panasonic Eluga dL1 takes its name from the phrase “ELegant, User-oriented GatewAy”, ie this smartphone should be a powerful and useful tool wrapped in beautiful decorative paper, so it can be considered a nice gift. Of course, if you have a slightly deeper pocket If we add another objection that this phone does not work on the latest version of Android (and it should) it is clear that Panasonic has a lot to fix on some next model.
As for the Panasonic Eluga dL1, it definitely has its advantages over the competition, primarily in terms of large screen and brilliant design, but also the silly rejection of beer. Overall, we are glad that Panasonic decided to enter this market segment because we are sure that they will soon pop up another good phone under their name.
