Jenga

In this article, I will introduce you to the basic rules of game Jenga and show you how to play. The object of the game is to be the last player to stack a block on the tower without it falling.

Setup Guide and Gameplay

Build the tower in the loading tray alternating each layer facing direction by 90 degrees. Set up the tower vertically on the table. The player who built the tower goes first. On your turn, you must remove one block from the tower and place it on top of the tower continuing the 90-degree alteration with every layer without it falling.

You can only remove blocks below the highest fully completed layer. You may only use one hand at a time when removing and placing blocks. You may touch as many blocks on your turn as you like. However, if a block moves you must either remove it entirely or return it to its position before touching another block.

A completed layer contains three blocks and you must always complete a layer before making a new layer. Your turn ends 10 seconds after you stack your block or as soon as the next player to your left touches a block and thus starts their turn. Play goes clockwise and the game ends when the tower falls. The last player to take a turn without making the tower fall wins. The player who caused the tower to fall sets up the tower for the next game.
