What about the Huawei Ascend Y600? In the last month, two of these Chinese companies have received a lot of new models. Something like Samsung, Huawei is trying to produce as many models as possible in order to complete its offer and thus reach as many customers around the world as possible. Unlike its far more well-known competitor, Huawei is playing the card of affordability. We recently introduced you to a dual SIM model with a large screen. It is a Huawei Ascend G730 model, and now it is the turn of the Ascend Y600. The Ascend Y600 is one of the cheapest models offered by this and many other manufacturers at the moment. Like the previously analyzed model, the Ascend Y600 works on two SIM cards.
Huawei Ascend Y600 design and screen
Visually, you won’t get too much out of this phone. The classic plastic case with the distinctive Huawei front surface is something that could be expected from a cheap dual SIM device. The phone has a large 5-inch screen, but the areas around it are large, which is another indication that this is a lower-class phone. The back is slightly rounded and, in addition to the logo, there is also a camera on it. In the hands of the Huawei Ascend Y600, it doesn’t look sophisticated, but that’s not expected of it. With over 1cm in thickness, this is one of the thicker models currently on offer, and compared to most of the existing ones, this is a bit retro, but one had to save to get the lowest possible price.
When it comes to the screen, its biggest advantage is the size. Let’s be realistic, it’s hard to find a 5-inch phone somewhere at this price and Huawei knows that well. The resolution is extremely below average and outdated, but it’s something you have to accept if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a new phone. As a result, you have a significantly poorer image quality, which is anything but sharp.
Huawei Ascend Y600 specification
Let’s start with the camera, more precisely the camera. The Huawei Ascend Y600 has two. We have already mentioned the main one and it comes with a 5MP sensor, while the front one is in minimal VGA resolution. This is another indicator of the “folk” spirit of the phone. The quality of the photos is somewhere around average at best, but the photos are still usable if you intend to use them for social media.
The Huawei Ascend Y600 has 4GB of internal memory, which of course you can’t have any serious objections to considering the price of the device. However, there is also a microSD port where you can insert a memory card to get a maximum of 32GB.
We thought anything under 1GB of RAM was a thing of the past, but the Huawei Ascend Y600 runs at just 512MB of RAM. Huawei has again opted for the MediaTek processor in a dual-core version with a clock speed of 1.3GHz. When used, this means that you will not be able to fully rely on a quiet and fluid operation, because with a lack of RAM come chopping and pauses. However, all the most used applications work quite well.
Huawei Ascend Y600 conclusion
There is no doubt that the main trump card that the Huawei Ascend Y600 has is the big screen. If this is important to you and you want to turn two phones into one, then the Huawei Ascend Y600 is shortlisted for potential candidates. The model from the same family (Ascend G730) offers the same performance, but also a larger screen. However, oversized screens are not practical for everyone, so many of you will stick to these 5 inches. The main competitors to this model can be the LG L70 and HTC Desire 210, but then you get smaller screens. All in all, the Huawei Ascend Y600 is a cheap combination of a large screen and a dual SIM device.
