Those only individuals from the Sony Xperia family who are not afraid of water are shown by the example of the new model with the LG Optimus GJ label. It is the first Android phone produced by LG, which is water-resistant. The LG Optimus GJ is the brother of the LG Optimus G model and somehow bonds with it in every sense.
The LG Optimus GJ has a certificate that says it can spend up to half an hour in water at a depth of one place, which is standard for this type of device. Unsurprisingly, its biggest competitors will be the Xperia Z and Galaxy S4 Active.
It is immediately obvious that the LG Optimus GJ will be difficult to fight against these two extremely powerful devices, although the LG model also has its trump cards. Generally speaking, we can put the LG Optimus GJ in the context of the so-called device. The “new middle” class.
LG Optimus GJ design
Let’s start with looks. The LG Optimus GJ simply has to be compared to the LG Optimus G. It is longer and slightly thinner than its brother, the LG Optimus GJ. The device has retained the distinctive LG square look. However, this model shows that LG can do even better when it comes to design. The LG Optimus GJ does not look glamorous, but it is quite decent and it would not be a shame to show it in public.
The phone is produced in three colors (black, blue, and red), so there is a nice choice of dials, except for the absence of white. The LG Optimus GJ has the ability to open the back and access the battery and microSD slot. The background of the phone is slightly rubberized. The on/off button is in the standard place, on the top of the device, along with the volume buttons on the left, which could have been a little better.
LG Optimus GJ screen
The phone is equipped with an IPS-LCD panel that offers a very good resolution of 720 × 1280 pixels with a commendable 312 pixels per inch. The colors are beautiful and the visibility in the outside light is acceptable. Also, the viewing angles are something that LG did nicely on this model.
LG Optimus GJ specification
When it comes to hardware parts below the surface, the LG Optimus GJ uses last year’s processor model – the well-known quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, which runs at 1.5GHz. It is supported by 2GB of RAM. All this gives the phone enough power to do everything you ask of this device, without pauses and some long pauses.
The LG Optimus GJ comes with 16GB of internal memory, but if that’s not enough for you, you can add a maximum of 64GB via a microSD card, although it seems to us that 16GB is no limit to the normal user.
LG Optimus GJ software
LG Optimus GJ 3The LG Optimus GJ runs on a 4.1.2 version of the Android operating system, which is roughly a step up, two of the latest version. The user interface is nicely designed by LG, which allows a lot of individualization, so you can play with it and customize it to your liking.
LG Optimus GJ camera
LG Optimus GJ 5The camera on this LG model has 13MP and comes with an LED flash and Optimus camera interface. He has a particularly interesting option that you can take a photo with a voice command, which is especially good when there is no one to take a picture of you. Of course, there is also a sea of options, modes, color effects, and the like.
Photos are good, especially when the brightness is good. When it comes to shooting in low visibility conditions, focusing on the subject is a bit more difficult, which is reflected in slower shooting and frequent “blurring” of the photo. The LED flash generally does its job well. The video is a bit better though and it is made in 1080p quality.
LG Optimus GJ battery and conclusion
The 2.280mAh battery is pretty good. It has enough capacity to enable up to 15 hours of talk time over the 3G network which is really good. As few people talk that much, it is clear that the LG Optimus GJ will easily go through the whole day without charging.
All things considered, the LG Optimus GJ is a very good waterproof phone. Of course, he cannot compete with the best models in this category, but that is not his primary intention. The LG Optimus GJ is grateful because it does everything it needs and ultimately costs less than the aforementioned Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S4 Active models (see a comparison of these three models HERE ).
