Towards the end of the year, I wrote about the first information regarding the new Samsung Galaxy S5 model. As time goes on, more and more is known about this phone, the time of its premiere is slowly but surely approaching. This should come as no surprise as this is perhaps the most desirable model at the moment, and certainly during 2014 as well. What do we know about the Galaxy S5 smartphone? Let’s go in order.
Samsung Galaxy S5 design
What was announced earlier is slowly coming true. According to the first information, Samsung’s new flagship phone should appear in two versions. It will be offered in plastic and metal versions.
That would mean that Samsung is following in the footsteps of Apple, which offers the iPhone in two versions: the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. For now, it seems that the difference between them (except for the price) will be only in the material used, because both will have identical 5.25-inch screens.
Samsung Galaxy S5 screen
The mentioned screen will be made in Super AMOLED technology with the expected above-average resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. This means that the Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 (which is announced) will have the best screens on the market.
Samsung Galaxy S5 specification
The new Galaxy will most likely come in two “power” versions. The first should be equipped with an Exynos 6 processor. The second will rely on the Snapdragon 805, all depending on the markets in which the Galaxy S5 will be sold. In addition, the S5 will offer a 16MP camera, as well as a front camera for which it is still not known for sure what kind of sensor it will have. Anyway, Android KitKat is here.
Samsung Galaxy S5 presentation and price
The Samsung Galaxy S5 will appear in public for the first time in March, at an already scheduled event in London. The sale should start a month later. After that, the production of “accompanying” models Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy S5 Zoom is planned.
