Wedding day is especially important in the life of every bride, and imagine what it’s like for celebrities. In addition to everything being perfect for their relatives and friends, there are also media and viewers or readers around the world whose eyes are fixed on famous newlyweds on their wedding day.
The good thing about celebrity weddings is that you can look up to them in some segments. If you need wedding rings, cities will offer great goldsmiths, you don’t have to worry about wedding halls because there are plenty of them, and for inspiration for choosing a wedding dress or wedding decoration, see what celebrity weddings looked like in the previous ten years.
Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger
We will start with a famous person from Serbia, whose wedding was attended by the whole world. Our most famous tennis player Ana Ivanovic and her chosen one and famous football player Bastin Schweinsteiger started having fun in 2014, and they crowned their love on July 12, 2016.
The couple chose romantic Venice as their wedding location, and the civil wedding was held in the “Sala degli Sutcchi”, which was attended only by the closest family members of the celebrated athletes. On this occasion, Ana, unlike many famous brides, decided to be modest, so she wore a wedding dress for which she set aside only 275 euros.
That evening, a party was organized for friends and family, and the song for the first dance was sung by Nina Badric. Guests could come to the party in a slightly more relaxed version, while an elegant dress code was announced for the church wedding.
The church wedding took place a day later in the Catholic Church. The reason for that is the fact that the Orthodox Church does not allow Orthodox-Catholic weddings, while the Catholic Church is more open on that issue. The tennis player kept her Orthodox religion, as well as her last name when it comes to tournaments and professional engagements, while she officially took her husband’s last name.
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin
At the same place where Ana and Bastian said the fateful yes, on September 12, 2014, Oscar winner George Clooney did the same, when he married Amal Alamuddin, who is a human rights lawyer by profession.
It took a long time for the world’s most famous bachelor to step on a crazy stone, and he did it in great style, in line with expectations. The four-day wedding, which included lavish cocktail parties, dinners at the most expensive hotels, a party by the pool, a lavish reception, as well as a water taxi ride for the guests, cost about 10 million euros.
The dress for the bride, which is considered a style icon, was designed by the famous designer Oscar de la Renta, and it was hand-decorated with pearls and crystals. The wedding was of course attended by Hollywood stars such as Sandra Bullock, Matt Damon and Cindy Crawford.
Cloney still managed to keep the wedding out of the public eye, while the fashion magazine Vogue was given the right to the pictures. Proceeds from the photos went to charity.
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello
This really was a fairytale wedding ! On November 22, 2015, Colombian actress Sofia Vergara and actor Joe Manganiello broke the hearts of many boys and girls around the world and vowed eternal love.
The glamorous ceremony was held in Florida at The Breakers Club and, according to many, took the title of the most romantic wedding. With the unique hashtag #Jofia, pictures of the guests from this wedding flooded social networks. These were also the only pictures from the wedding, since the entrance to the media was strictly forbidden.
Crystal chandeliers, fantastic flower arrangements and a marble floor were just part of the glamorous interior. The bride wore the wedding dress of the famous Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, and her son from her first marriage accompanied her to the altar.
Prince William and Kate Middleton
The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the current Duchess of Cambridge, took place on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London. The famous couple met ten years before the marriage, while studying at St. Andrews University.
The wedding ceremony was broadcast live on television around the world, with a side-by-side comparison with the wedding of the prince’s parents, the Prince of Wales Charles and Lady Diane Spencer. Since the groom is not the heir to the throne, the wedding was not entirely a state ceremony, so the newlyweds could decide on many details of the wedding on their own.
The guest list numbered about 1,900 people, and that day was declared non-working in the United Kingdom. The wedding was attended by the royal family, a large number of representatives of foreign dynasties, diplomats and other guests who were personally chosen by the newlyweds.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Last on the list, but also the biggest so far is the second royal wedding, and this time the newlyweds were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This ceremony took place on May 19 this year in St. George’s Church in Windsor Castle.
This wedding is of exceptional historical significance for the royal family. It used to be unthinkable for a close member of the royal family to marry a woman who has a marriage behind her, and it is generally known that Meghan Markle is divorced.
Meghan is also the first person of the mixed race to become part of the British royal family. This, in many ways important wedding, was attended by a large number of Hollywood guests, ie young former colleagues.
There were George Clooney with his wife, David and Victoria Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, as well as actors from the “Suits” series that celebrated Meghan Markle.
We believe that you are not planning a wedding of the same size as the wedding of celebrities, but these stories and pictures from these events can serve as inspiration for choosing a dress, wedding cake or decoration.
